I am Cindy and I am happily married to Mike and we have a daughter Maggie. We moved to Shreveport Louisiana from Philadelphia to get away from the super big cities and high living costs. No we are not anywhere near New Orleans, although Maggie was born August 28, so yes I was in the hospital the day Katrina hit. Our goals are to have our own piece of land where our kids can play safe outdoors and learn about life hands on, and to not be in debt. We are both animal lovers. I thought I was bad about bringing strays home until I met Mike- he’s even worse! But of all the faults a person can have, I’d say thats not a bad one. The animals keep us broke, but they enrich our lives so much. We are currently leasing a 3 acre farm and hope to be able to buy it in a few years, and maybe the 5 acres behind it. If I could make a living being a farmer I would, but thats not realistic I’m afraid, so we work hard at our day jobs, and Mike sells candles on the side (buy one, you’ll like it). We also like gardening, music, medieval reenactment, the history channel, traveling, firefighters, pirate movies, and hanging out with family and friends.
This site is mainly to keep family and friends updated on what’s going on and to promote our farm and side businesses.
